Samsung debuts Galaxy S5 at MWC



Samsungs most anticipated smartphone of the era is here, late yesterday night, the company went officially introducing their 2014 flagship handset and their Galaxy S fleet front runner at their Mobile World Congress Unpacked 5 Press event in Barcelona, Spain.

The new Android powered smartphone from the big South Korean multinational manufacturer will feature the faux leather feel on its back, as saw from the companys 2013 phablet flagship, Galaxy Note 3, but this time with an entirely different texture and great new look. The new Samsung Galaxy S5 has also got the IP67-certifications out of its box, making the whole unit dust and water resistant up to one meter and 30 minutes.

As heard from the previous leaked reports, the new phone also trait a fingerprint scanner on the smartphones physical home button, alongside a heart rate monitor over the hood, placed aside its LED flash light. The Koreans have also updated their new phone, replacing the capacitive options button with a recent apps or a application switcher key on the below left side.

The newly announced Galaxy S5 will sport a Quad-Core Qualcomm MSM8974-AC Snapdragon 800 801 processor with Krait 400 cores, speeding at 2.5GHz, 5.1-inches Full High Definition Super AMOLED screen of 1080 x 1920 resolution display marked at 432 pixels-per-inch in protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 3, 16 or 32 gigabytes of internal mass storage options (expandable via microSD card slot up to 128GB), two gigabytes of Random Access Memory (RAM), 16 megapixels primary camera on the back with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) technology LED flash light, capable of capturing Ultra High Definition (UHD) videos on 2160 pixels count at 30 frames-per-second, a two megapixels secondary camera on the front that can shoot at 1080p, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0, Near Field Communication (NFC) and 4G LTE Cat4 network support, other sensors like accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity, compass, barometer, temperature and humidity, gesture and ambient light sensor, Galaxy S attributes and Samsungs Smart features, a 2,800mAh powered removable battery and runs Androids version 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box with the companys own TouchWiz User Interface on top of it.

The flagship Samsung Galaxy S5 will come in Black, White, Blue and Gold color options, measured at 142 x 72.5 x 8.1 millimeters in dimensions and weighs 145 grams on mass. The units will ship by mid-April internationally, where AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile will offer the phone for the Stateside first.

Update: The new Samsung Galaxy S5 will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, instead of a earlier heard 800 option, with Krait 400 cores, Adreno 330 Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) and Hexagon QDSP6 for ultra low power applications. The company will also ship their new flagships powered by Octa-Core chipset, clocked at 2.1GHz.
