Yes Of course Now Hackers Could Easily Build an iPhone Bot net Thanks to Windows

The reminder to the Apple and smug iPhone Publishers: Simply because iOS is not certainly the victim of an widespread "Malware" outbreak doesn’t mean iPhone hacking isn’t still possible. Now one selection of security researchers plans to show how to enslave a full bot-net of Apple gadgets by way of a perennial weak point their connection to vulnerable Windows Computers.

In a study they will reveal in the future soon, Georgia Tech manufacturer assembled : The pieces should need to build a "Fully Controlled" collection of hacked iOS devices despite Apple’s sealed limitations on software lodged in iPads and iPhones. Georgia Tech Manufacturer haven’t just created the full, working exploit to the mobile operating system yet.

Theyve also identified a huge slice of "Malware infected" Windows machine around (23%) percent of the people they tested that regularly get connected to iOS devices and may easily be used to deliver the Rush-Attack!!

They also say that blueprint with an iPhone bot-net should serve totally a warning to Apple Publishers that despite the devices. Flaunt Security-Protection, it could do a lot more to screw, iOS hackable vulnerabilities more quicker.

(Many of you guys believe wide-ranging infections of iOS gadgets aint possible. We would like to show that is not a fact, "Tielei Wang" Says: Certainly one of three researchers who will present the research at the Black Hat security conference in a few days and at the Usenix security seminar later this week.iOS itself is extremely secure. But when you consider the full ecosystem, you are able to see that PCs play a significant role, and they’re very probably be compromised. That leaves the iPhone in the mousy state too.

Apple is gonna blame Microsoft as much as it deserves. The researchers created their attack mainly from bugs Apple is actually aware of but neglected to fix. Most of the vulnerabilities they used originated from a jailbreak exploit called “evasi0n” that published by hacker obviously in December to let iOS people put off Apple’s software package restrictions.

As Apple released iOS 7. 1 Version, several months later, this Georgia Tech researchers say, the company repaired just three out of eight vulnerabilities this jailbreak had joined together.

The rest of the bugs that Apple did not patch, along having two new vulnerabilities the researchers discovered themselves, allowed the "Georgia Tech team" to reassemble the full iOS exploit that will definitely give a hacker complete control of the phone.

The Georgia Tech team researchers say their attack shows Apple could do more to fix known vulnerabilities.

For some outwardly superficial bugs, Apple does not often care very much. But from the attackers standpoint, these superficial bugs can equal to very important attacks says Wang. We actually wanted to show that vendors required to be very careful concerning to their vulnerabilities and fix all of them.

This Georgia Tech Founders say they aware Apple about their exploit a lot more than three months ago, but the firm still doesnt patch the particular bugs they utilized. Even after, they don’t decide to release the code for their "iOS exploit" on Black Hat because doing this would violate university or college policies. But they will describe the attack in little detail, both at "Black Hat" and in their Usenix paper.

There will be no code, ” claims Georgia Techs Yeongjin Jang. But if a number of the other developers recognize our talk, they may reproduce the complete work.

An Apple spokeswoman told TELEMEEN this company works "indefatigably” to guarantee the security of the hardware, applications and software, and promised the other remaining security will be fixed soon. “We appreciate the knowledge Georgia Tech presented to us and still have fixes in a future software update that address the difficulties they shared, ” she wrote in the review statement.

The master limitation to this researchers. Work, which possibly convinced Apple never to rush out some sort of fix, is that the exploit is “tied up. ” Like the evasi0n jailbreak it’s largely depends on, an iPad or

iPhone initially will need to be plugged into a computer for the hack to operate. That’s a minimal inconvenience for users wanting to jailbreak their i-phones, but it presents a more serious barrier to be able to hackers hoping to use it for harmful ends.

And Now For Android dominating smart phone market share in addition to presenting a more supple target to "Hackers", the large-scale transmission Georgia Tech’s researchers describe is probably not worth a profit-motivated cyber-criminals. But the identical techniques and vulnerabilities they can double for more discerning hacking. And if Apple wishes to prevent those more finely-targeted attacks, it may do more–and take action faster–to fix your bugs that help them.

Samsung could be building Windows Phone 8 devices

Think of Samsung and Android comes to mind. The Korean tech giant may be synonymous with its Galaxy S smartphones, but it could be building two devices for Microsofts Windows Phone 8 platform.

The information surfaced in court documents revealed during ongoing the Apple-Samsung trial, displaying Windows Phone 8 devices. "Odyssey" is a codename for a phone, featuring a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor and 4G LTE. Theres also a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED display, along with an 8-megapixel camera. Samsung describes the devices as "iconic".

The second device is dubbed "Marco" and has a 4-inch Super AMOLED display and 4G LTE support. Samsung omitted the "iconic" branding adjective for this device. Its not the Omnia M, launched August 1 in the UK. The device does feature a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, but runs Windows Phone 7.5 Mango and doesnt offer 4G LTE. The UK, currently, only widely offers 3G.

Its going to be interesting to see if Google continues to warmly support Samsung. Microsoft undoubtedly wants high-end devices from the company, especially considering the success of the Galaxy S3. Nokia sold 4 million Lumia devices, a fraction of the 10 million S3s that Samsung has sold in just over two months.

Forbes suggested that Samsungs development for the platform could encourage skeptical manufacturers. Samsung launched the Omnia 7 smartphone during the launch of the mobile OS, but Windows Phone has struggled to gain momentum. A high-end device, along with Nokias next phone for Windows Phone 8, could be the catalyst.

Samsung may simply want to broaden its smartphone portfolio. It may feel that its devices can hit a market (high-end) which Nokia hasnt dominated.

Also interesting is how Microsoft approaches its relationship with Samsung. Nokia and the software giant have a close relationship, so will Samsungs devices be as striking as the Lumia 900?

Forbes predicted that the market could shift from Android to Windows Phone 8. Considering Androids dominance alongside iOS, Google isnt going away soon. Samsung may be a stepping stone, but the catalyst could be the cross-platform development between Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8. The success of Windows 8, and Metro - the UI used across the desktop and mobile OSs, will impact Microsofts mobile operating system.

Windows Phone 8 is going to launch next week. Microsoft is gearing up for the launch of the Windows Phone 8 operating system with a number of handset manufacturers announcing new smartphones for the platform, such as HTC ,Nokia and Samsung, in order to complete with Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS.

When it comes to Windows Phone 8 it’s clear there are three major choices at the moment, the Nokia Lumia 920 or the HTC Windows Phone 8X, or the Samsung Ativ S.

Few Days ago, Best Buy has opened up pre-orders for the Nokia Lumia 920 and the HTC Windows Phone 8X, according to WPCentral. Nokia Lumia 920, which ships with 32 GB of on-board store, is available for $149.99 with a 2 year contract, while at the same time, HTC 8X, with 8 GB of on-board storage, costs just $99 with a 2 year contract. Both devices cost $599.99 unlocked. Best Buy began accepting pre-orders for the new Nokia Lumia 920 on Sunday, but the link to the product page has since been removed. Samsung ATIV S price remains a mystery, but retailer Handtec recently took a stab with a whopping £431.99. The Windows Phone 8X will be available in November from 150 carriers including AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile in the US. Lumia 920 will be exclusive to the mobile carrier for the first six months after the phone’s launch.

The thing is, we’ve been looking at the tech specs again and actually the Nokia Lumia 920 is better suited as a rival to the  HTC Windows Phone 8X and Samsung Ativ S, This would leave the Nokia Lumia 920 as a true flagship and device of pure innovation, what do you think?

Carrier and pricing

Right now, HTC has the benefit of enlisting carriers to help rally customers to the 8X. The phone has a price ($199.99) and not one but three carriers to help lead the charge: AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon.

But Nokia hasnt yet announced U.S. carriers, though there are plenty of rumors that point to an October or November Lumia 920 launch on AT&T. So Nokia should take care of this.

Windows 8 Search Crash Fix

Microsoft is not very well known for their performance out of the gate with new software. Vista was a huge blunder with all the bugs and crashes, and Windows 8 may be headed in the same direction. I was among many eager technology geeks awaiting Windows 8 in hopes that Microsoft had finally caught up to the competition, and at first I was impressed. The problems didnt really start until the first update came and went- after which I was unable to use the search function. Some internet searches turned up an automated tool made by Microsoft for just this problem. Trouble was, it was no help. After a lot of digging I was able to fix my problem and my solution is outlined below.

Microsoft Fix-it

For those of you with better luck than I have here is the link to the automated solution.

http://support.microsoft.com/mats/windows_search/en-us

Using Windows

1. Navigate to Control Panel.

2. Click "Programs" then "Programs and Features".

3. Click "Turn Windows features on or off" on the left side of the list.

4. Uncheck "Windows Search" and hit "OK". You will be prompted to restart.

5. After restart, repeat these steps and check the box.

If the above did not work continue here:

6. Go to Control Panel.

7. In the top right, search for "reindex". There should be three options that come up. Choose the middle option of "Change how windows searches".

8. Click "Advanced" to get a new options menu.

9. Click the button titled "Rebuild" in the middle of the new box.

10. Wait for it to finish. This process may take up to an hour depending on how many files you have.

Manual Fix

This is a little involved for someone who is not comfortable with administrative tools on a computer but it is very easy if you follow these instructions.

1. Press Windows Key + R to get the run dialogue box.

2. Type "regedit.exe" in the box and hit enter.

3. Using the box on the left, navigate to the following directory: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftware

MicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersion

ExplorerAdvanced

4. We need to change a registry called "Start_SearchFiles" to a value of 2. If you are like me, yours is already 2. We need to reset this so what we are going to do it change it to 0, then back to 2.

5. Double-click Start_SearchFiles or right-click and select "Modify" to get the edit box. Change the number under "Value data" to 0 then click "Ok".

6. Repeat step 5, changing the value back to 2.

7. Restart your computer.

Manual Fix 2

Using the above information navigate to the following directory:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerFolderTypes

And delete the following folder: {ef87b4cb-f2ce-4785-8658-4ca6c63e38c6}. After deleting the folder restart your computer

Microsoft Windows History

In 1983, Microsoft announced the development of a graphical user interface for the operating system, MS-DOS and the four that have been made for the IBM PC and compatible computers since 1981.

Microsoft Windows or better known as Windows is a family of operating systems. developed by Microsoft, by using the graphical user interface.

Windows operating systems have evolved from MS-DOS, an operating system based on the mode of text and command-line. The first versions of Windows, Windows Graphic Environment 1.0 was first introduced on 10 November 1983, but recently quit the market in November of 1985, which was created to meet the needs of the computer with the display picture. Windows 1.0 is a 16-bit software (not the operating system) running on top of MS-DOS (and several variants from MS-DOS), so he wont be able to walk without any operating system DOS. Version 2.x, 3.x version is also the same. Some versions of Windows (starting from version 4.0 and Windows NT 3.1) is a standalone operating system that no longer relies on the MS-DOS operating system. Microsoft Windows can then evolve and can master the use of the operating system until you reach 90%.

Starting from DosShell for DOS 6 from Microsoft and Microsoft want it to compete against his Apple Macintosh sales using the GUI, Microsoft created Windows 1.0. The name is derived from the kelatahan of Microsoft employees who mentioned the name of the application as a Windows Program (the Program window). Windows version 2 was the first version of Windows be installed programs. The only program that can be added is the Microsoft Word version 1. Windows version 3 promises a lot more additional applications, completeness of use, user interface or interface beauty and easy configuration. Windows version 3.1 is a version of Windows that is able to optimize its use on 32-bit processors on Intel 80386 and above. Windows version 3.11 is the last version of Windows before the era of the Start Menu. Windows 3.11 is also the first Windows version that supports networking/network. The hybrid versions can be run without MS-DOS. The Hybrid version of the install itself with DOS 7. Unlike the 16-bit version of Windows which is a shell that must be installed through DOS first. Its application was different. Although Windows 9 x can run 16-bit Windows applications, however Windows 9 x has its own application of grade-x 86-32, is very popular with Windows 9 x BSOD (Blue Screen of Death).

Here are a few versions of the microsoft windows OS:

Windows 95
Microsoft began development of a version of Windows that is oriented to the user who was given the code name Chicago. Chicago was designed in order to have support for a pre-emptive multitasking 32-bit as well as in the OS/2 and Windows NT, 16-bit kernel even though it still contained therein for reasons of backward compatibility. The Win32 API first introduced in Windows NT was adopted as a new programming interface standard 32-bit-based, with Win16 compatibility using a technique called "thunking". The new GUI is also owned by the operating system, while Microsoft did not initially planned as part of the operating system when it was released. Indeed some user interface elements owned by Cairo borrowed and added to the operating system or the other aspects of that version (specifically the Plug and Play feature).

Microsoft does not replace all the Windows code to 32-bit; many parts of it remained 16-bit (although not using the real mode directly), for reasons of backwards compatibility, performance, and development time. This and the fact that a number of weaknesses in the design of the previous versions of Windows, make the new operating system is compromised its stability and efficiency.

Finally, the marketing name of Microsofts Windows 95 as the product name for Chicago when it was released on August 24, 1995. Microsoft has two advantages of this launch: 1) it is impossible for consumers to run Windows 95 on a DOS operating system instead of Microsoft which is much cheaper. 2) Although traces of DOS were not been revoked from the operating system, instead of the version established a version of DOS to load as part of the booting process, Windows 95 runs by itself in 386 Enhanced mode, by using the virtual memory addressing model and a 32-bit flat memory. The features that make the Win32 applications to address the virtual RAM as much as up to 2 gigabytes (2 gigabytes with the rest reserved for the operating system), and in theory prevents such applications to interfere with memory space owned by any other Win32 application without the approval of the operating system. In this case, it is the functionality of Windows 95 approaching what is owned by Windows NT, although Windows 95/98/Me does not support memory above 512 megabytes without editing the system configuration hassle.

Behind the success of Microsoft, IBM continued OS/2 market, by producing the OS/2 version 3.0 and OS/2 Warp (version 4.0). IBM is responding to complaints filed by consumers regarding computer hardware needs are high requested by OS/2 2.0, OS/2 version 3.0 made much slimmer by performing the optimization on the size and speed. Before Windows 95 was released, OS/2 Warp 3.0 has even bundled in some major hardware provider in Germany. However, with the release of Windows 95, OS/2 was again losing its market share back, taken over by Windows 95.

May not be possible to find out what the reason why OS/2 failed in gaining a large market share. Although OS/2 continued to be able to run Windows 3.1 applications, actually nothing short of again, except at a fraction of the Windows API called Win32s. Unlike Windows 3.1, IBM does not have access to the source code of Windows 95 and does not want to use time and resources to do the emulation of Win32 API. IBM also introduced OS/2 in the case of United States versus Microsoft, by blaming the marketing ploy on the part of Microsoft, but many people may agree that the problems in the marketing of IBM is very less and its support from the developers of the software that led to failure-the failure of OS/2.

Windows 98
On June 25, 1998, Microsoft released a new Windows operating system, known as Windows 98. Windows 98 is considered a minor revision of Windows 95, but in general the views are much more stable and reliable than its predecessor, Windows 95. Windows 98 includes a lot of new hardware and drivers support the FAT32 file system which allow a better partition to have a capacity of greater than 2 gigabytes, a limitation in Windows 95. USB support in Windows 98 is also much better compared to its predecessor.

Windows 98 inviting controversy when Microsoft entered the Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser into the operating system and cannot be revoked, making the Windows Explorer and the Windows GUI is capable of displaying a directory as if it were a web page. This opens the new cases, referred to as United States versus Microsoft, asking why Microsoft bother keeping its dominance in personal computer operating systems to compete with its competitors like Netscape and IBM in a way that is not honest.

In 1999, Microsoft released Windows 98 Second Edition, a release which offers many improvements over the previous version. Internet Connection Sharing, which is a form of Network Address Translation, which allows multiple machines within a local network to use one Internet connection lines together fruity was introduced in this version. A lot of minor issues in the Windows of the old has been corrected, which makes Windows 98 according to many as a Windows 9 x version is the most stable of all other versions of Windows 9 x.
