HTC E1 Tips and Tricks
Here are some How Tos for your HTC E1. These How Tos may still not yet complete and I am finding some time to work on the others:
How to Factory Reset (Hard Reset) HTC E1
Resetting your HTC E1 will restore the default settings of your device. It will also delete all your files on your phone, so it is recommended to have a backup of your important files on your computer. There are two ways on how to reset your HTC E1. It can be done through the settings or through the hardware buttons.
Resetting HTC E1 on Settings:
- Slide the Notifications panel open, and then tap the Gear Icon or Settings.
- Select Backup & reset.
- Tap Reset phone.
- If you want to delete all your files, then tap Erase all data.
- Then tap OK to confirm.
These steps is also helpful when your HTC E1 is unresponsive or frozen and theres no way to access the settings.
- First, press and hold the Volume Down button, and then do the same way on the Power button.
- Hold the two buttons until the three Android images appear on the Lcd.
- Release the button when the three Android images appear and press Volume Down.
- Tap on Factory Reset, and then press the Power Button to confirm.
Contacts is very important for everyone of us. We cant connect to our friends without a contact number. If you have a new phone, saving contacts on the phone one by one is so hassle. But now, theres an easy way how to transfer or import your contacts from your old phone to your new phone.
Use your PC to transfer contacts to your new phone. This process is applicable in several phone brands, including iPhone, Samsung, HTC and Nokia.
You just need an Internet Connection on your PC, your old and new phone and their own USB cable.
Then you need to install the PC Companion program. This is a free application and the installation files are already saved on your new phone. This program can also be used in updating your phone software.
Please note that if you are using the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system on your PC, make sure that the AutoPlay setting is enabled.
To check your settings:
Click Start > Control Panel, then type "autoplay" on the search box. Click the AutoPlay, and mark the check box Use AutoPlay for all media and devices.

- On your new Phone, tap "Install" to install PC Companion on the PC.

Transferring your contacts to your new phone:
- Make sure that PC Companion is installed on your PC.
- Open the PC Companion application on your PC.

The downside of this device is that it only sports a rear camera at 5 megapixels. It significantly lacks a front-facing camera which is common on any smartphones.
The Nokia Lumia 520 comes preloaded with Nokias Here suite software like the Drive, Transit, Maps and Music app. It will be available in U.S through T-Mobile unlike its sibling Lumia 720 which may not be sold in US. Nokia Lumia 720 sports a 4.3-inch curved glass Clear Black display with a 800x480 resolution. It is powered with a SnapDragon S4 chipset with a 1 GHz dual-core processor. However it only has a 512MB of RAM which makes switching apps a bit sluggish compared to other hig-end smartphones. The Lumia 720 is slimmer than 920 which is at 9.0mm and weighs at 128g. And this is Nokias first unibody phone with microSD slot. Its battery can last up to 13hours of talk time, 520 hours of standby time and 79 hours of music playback time.
The biggest feature on Nokia Lumia 720 is perhaps its camera. It may only have a 6.7 megapixel rating but its packed with impressive lens. It practically has beaten its predecessor and perhaps other smartphones as it takes pride wit its F1.9 aperture which means more light through the lens and better photos. Nokia also added a backside-illuminated (BSI) sensor design which lets the sensor pick up more light. Nokia this time made a huge leap to improve its front-facing camera. Featuring a F 2.4 aperture, a wide-viewing angle and and HD resolution of 1280x960, surely this front-facing camera is great improvement. You can now take a group of four self-portraits that fits in comfortably on the Lcd using the front-facing camera.
Additionally, Lumia 720 has NFC support and is capable of wireless charging, like the 920,with a special snap-on cover. This latest flagship of Nokia adds to its stable of Windows 8 phone. Nokia announced for a second quarter release of 720 for Europe. It will be available in as early as April or as late as June.

How to Factory Reset Hard Reset Motorola Droid Maxx
Performing factory reset on smartphones are often the last resort when worst comes to worst. When you do factory reset, all downloaded apps and phone settings will be deleted. Then youll have a clean phone just like the first time you opened it from its box. Make sure that you back up important files before you perform this. The software might be nice, but usually not free and require high computer specs. With these tips we do not need to install any additional software to accelerate the performance of Windows XP.There are following ways to make windows xp faster :
1. Using the NTFS file system
If you have recently installed windows xp, use the NTFS file system. NTFS system files more quickly accessible and scandisknya also very fast. Do not use FAT, unless you want to be able to access the hard disk in Windows 98 without additional software. Windows 98 can access NTFS files with additional software: ntfs-reader or NTFS98.
2. Selecting startup programs that need
This section should always be checked by you, because if it contains a virus / spyware / malware, your computer is so slow. To open this startup, run the START -> RUN, type msconfig, open the startup tab.
It was here seen all the programs that run at startup. You can check one by one dihardware file, located in what folder. If there are unnecessary programs, remove the check in lines that would be disabled.
3. Turning off unnecessary services
Still in the msconfig window, open the Services tab. It is a service that automatically run windows on startup. There are some services that are not necessary and should be turned off, namely:
* Automatic Live Update Scheduler. This service if you do not want automatic updates windows, or your computer is not connected to the Internet at all.
* Error Reporting Service. If you ever see the window contents "error occurred ...." There continue to send or do not send option. That is the order of this service. We usually choose the "do not send, so this service should be turned off.
* Live Update, together with Automatic Live Update Scheduler.
* Automatic Updates, together with Automatic Live Update Scheduler.
* Remote Desktop Help Manager. Used to help you if you have any difficulties or errors in the windows, you can ask your friends to access your computer remotely (internet). If you never wear it, this service should be turned off.
* Remote Registry. To access the registry (the file settings windows) from a distance. Should be turned off.
* Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). This is only used if the computer you are using UPS, which is a useful tool to store electrical energy when the power goes out. Disable this service if you do not use UPS.
* Event Log.Windows record all logs of what happened in windows. If you never use the event logs (in the Control Panel -> Administrative Tools), then this service may be turned off.
* Windows Audio. May be turned off if your computer without a sound card.
4. Minimize the visual effect
Open the Start Menu -> Control Panel -> System Properties. Open the Advanced tab. Click on the Performance setting. In the Visual effects tab select Adjust for Best Performance. Then check the option Use visual styles for windows and buttons to keep your windows look like Windows XP.
5. Setting the optimal virtual memory
Open the Start Menu -> Control Panel -> System Properties. Open the Advanced tab. Click on the Performance setting. Click the Advanced tab. At the bottom there is the option Virtual Memory, click on the words Change. Use a custom size. Fill with:
Minimum: 2048 MB
Maximum: 4000 MB
6. Edit Registry
To open this startup, run the START -> RUN, type regedit,
double click at HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelDesktopMenuShowDelay (value data = 50)
and double click at HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelDesktopWaitToKillAppTimeout (value data = 0)
7. Scan and Defragment regularly
Scan (once a week) and Defragment (once a month) your hard drive regularly. Open windows explorer, right click on your hard drive, select Properties. Open the tools tab. Select error checking to run a scan disk, and select the defragmentation to download Defragment the hard drive.
